Horton Commercials increase Renault fleet thanks to Westover Group

Dorset-based commercial vehicle body build and repair firm, Horton Commercials, has expanded its Renault commercial vehicle fleet to more than 200 following the recent order of a further 22 vehicles from the Westover Group, which is part of the UK’s largest network of motor dealerships.
Horton Commercials is a family-run firm, also operating Abacus vehicle hire, and converts vehicle bodies for a diverse customer base including builders’ merchants, breweries, power companies, specialist delivery companies and removal firms, with an emphasis on bespoke and complex body builds.
The Westover Group has supplied a fleet of Renault Master platform cabs which are to be adapted and converted by Horton Commercials into a wide range of specialist vehicles which are bespoke to customer requirements.
The fleet consists of a mix of long-wheel base Easy Movers (Low Loaders) with Euro 6 compliant dci 130hp and twin turbo dci145hp engines.  All are single cab three-seater vehicles and offer high volume as well as high weight capacities for the increasingly growing 3.5 tonne van market. This market has seen a huge rise of popularity owing to the tighter legislation around HGV licencing.
The Renault Master platform cab offers a comfortable workspace with a contoured driver’s seat with added lateral support which features height and lumbar adjustment as well as plenty of storage space, including under the passenger seat.  All vehicles provided have air conditioning, cruise control and the option of a built in satellite navigation systems.

David Wolfenden, managing director at Horton Commercials, says: “As a converter of commercial vehicles we are able to create bespoke body work in our modern workshop facility for a diverse customer base. The Renault Master platform cab is an ideal vehicle for us to perform skilled conversions. Horton Commercials has been working with the Westover Group since they were awarded the Renault franchise in 2006 and during each vehicle order the team at Westover has provided a seamless service, from order to delivery.”

David Banks, business development specialist at the Westover Group, adds: “The Renault Master is a hugely versatile vehicle. The variety and adaptability of the Renault Master makes it the ideal vehicle for Horton Commercials to convert into a range of specialist vehicles.”

He adds: “Our aim is to provide quality vehicles and service to our customers, so we are delighted to have Horton Commercials on board as a regular client. We hope to continue to strengthen this relationship in the future.”
