New Generation Nissan LEAF Silences Bournemouth Drivers

The new generation Nissan LEAF silenced local drivers when it was unveiled at Westover Nissan.

Fresh from having won the 'Best Electric Car' category at the 2018 What Car? Awards, the LEAF cut an impressive shape in the showroom and visitors were stunned by its new looks inside and out.

The latest LEAF goes further than ever on a single charge - it now has a range of up to 168 miles and it recharges to 80 per cent of its full power in just 40-60 minutes. A full recharge at home takes just 7.5 hours with an easily-installed home charger.

New features include an e-Pedal which allows drivers to accelerate and brake using the same pedal (release it for regenerative braking and depress again to accelerate). So simple! There's also a suite of ProPILOT facilties (on N-Connecta models and above) which allow the new LEAF to park itself. It will also monitor your speed and brake for you if necessary; warn you if another vehicle is in your blind spot; and keep you safely in your lane.

"The new LEAF got an amazing reception at our launch event," reports Paul Hughes, Westover Nissan's Brand Manager. "It's a very different car for 2018 and our visitors liked its style, the comfort and space inside and the cost benefits that driving electric brings. We booked in plenty of test drives and we're looking forward to showing local drivers exactly what the LEAF is capable of."
