KIA PROVES THE STING IN ITS TAIL AND WINS ‘BEST PETROL TOW CAR’ AWARD

The Kia Stinger, the newest car in Kia’s stunning line, saw off tough competition to be named the ‘Best Petrol Tow Car’ at the Tow Car Awards 2018.

The accolade is jointly awarded by Practical Caravan, What Car? and the Camping and Caravanning Club.

The performance of 44 different cars was assessed across four performance areas – towing, everyday driving, practicality and buying and owning.

The super-stylish Stinger is a sleek four door coupe that comfortably takes on higher-priced rivals, thanks to its bold and classy styling, advanced electronic driver aids and high-tech connectivity systems.

The exact model singled out for success was the Stinger 2.0 T-GDi GT-Line. Its impressive 2.0 litre turbo-charged petrol engine and eight-speed automatic gearbox deliver plenty of power and torque, making it the perfect choice for towing a wide range of caravans and trailers (up to a maximum trailer load of 750kg unbraked and 1,500kg braked).

David Motton, Tow Car Editor of Practical Caravan said: “The Stinger doesn’t look like a typical tow car. But the Kia proves that you don’t need a practical estate or a tough SUV to go caravanning.”
