Gary Clark - Westover KIA and Lexus Poole Brand Manager
Gary is Brand Manager for Westover Kia and Lexus Poole. His role involves managing all activity across our two busy Kia showrooms in Ferndown and Salisbury (between them, the sites sell and service more than 6,200 cars each year) and our boutique Lexus showroom in Poole.
He joined Westover back in August 2008, having racked up 10 years’ experience in the motor trade (latterly as Sales Manager at a Land Rover dealership). Initially starting his working life as an accountant, Gary chose to move into a sales role after five years slaving over figures. His knowledge of numbers is a skill he continues to use every-day: his job includes the financial management of Westover Kia and Lexus Poole but he’s also responsible for making sure each meets manufacturer standards, Group targets and customer expectations and he helps plan and execute marketing initiatives too.
Gary didn’t want to move away from the Dorset area but had ambitious career expectations, so set his sights on joining Westover – a locally based company large enough to provide the opportunities he was looking for. Having joined the Group as a Sales Manager, he became Kia’s Brand Manager in January 2014. Gary was then given responsibility for Lexus Poole franchise (in addition to his Kia role) in October 2017.
One of Gary’s career highlights to date has been attending the 2014 World Cup Final in Brazil as Kia’s guest, thanks to year-end results that put Westover Kia in the top 20 showrooms in the UK.
Emily Price - Centre Host Supervisor
As Centre Host Supervisor for Westover’s Fiat, Peugeot and Renault operations in Poole, Emily’s job is a hectic one! She joined Westover three and a half years ago, starting as Centre Host and recently moving into a supervisory role which now sees her managing a small team. In addition to carrying out general administrative duties, Emily ensures efficient communication between visitors and staff and is responsible for maintaining showroom standards. She also assists with initial induction training for new starters to the Fiat, Peugeot and Renault showrooms.
It’s an all-important job because first impressions really do count as far as we’re concerned – we want all our showroom guests to feel welcome and we like to offer each and every customer a bespoke service. Our Centre Hosts are our ‘brand ambassadors’, operating at the forefront of our business.
Before joining Westover, Emily was a receptionist at a Best Western Hotel. She chose to move because of the greater career opportunities available and particularly enjoys working with, and learning from, a wide range of people.
Thomas Moss - Group Digital Marketing Manager
Having been to school in Verwood and Ferndown, Tom started working part-time for Westover Land Rover in Christchurch back in September 2012 while he was studying for a degree at Bournemouth University. He progressed from weekend receptionist to senior marketing assistant in just over three years and is now a major player in the Group’s marketing team.
Tom has a passion for cars that shone through from the beginning and, just six months after starting at Westover, he decided university wasn’t for him. He enquired about full time work and was offered a position as a trainee, learning the motor industry from scratch.
Fast forward to April 2013 and Tom was promoted into a Group marketing role, which saw him managing the online presence of Westover Jaguar and Westover Land Rover, under the wing of Mark Whittam, Head of Group Marketing. Quickly proving his ability, Thomas then took on responsibility for Westover's Lexus, Lotus and Abarth brands as well.
He now works with the Marketing Operations Director and supports their marketing requirements across the 15 franchises.
