At Westover Group we not only supply parts and accessories to our own group but have a trade base that spans nearly 400 customers across Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and beyond.

With Parts Hubs based in Salisbury and Poole as well as a dedicated Land Rover Parts operation in Christchurch and a dedicated Jaguar and Sports Cars operation in Poole, we have a large workforce of dedicated and knowledgeable Retail and Trade Advisors, Service Counter Advisors, Delivery Drivers and Warehouse Operatives.

One of the great things about parts is that you work alongside so many different departments within the dealerships and as our Sales and Aftersales volumes increase, our Parts teams have never been more important. Parts Advisor

Westover Group are looking for experienced Parts Advisors to join their teams at their busy sites in Christchurch, Poole and Salisbury:

  • Jaguar Land Rover, Bailey Drive, Christchurch
  • Parts Hub, Wallisdown Road, Poole
  • Parts Hub, Brunel Road, Salisbury

The Role

As a Parts Advisor you are key to delivering our Group aftersales customer satisfaction, volume and profitability objectives. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills in order to professionally interact with customers face to face or over the telephone.

As well as ensuring that walk in and telephone enquiries are promptly dealt with, you will need to own and deliver your individual sales objectives consistently across each month.

Our Parts Advisors are meticulous in respect of the administrative areas of the parts department, and typically are required to assist and support stock control policies and deliveries. As a Parts Advisor you will always deliver an exceptional experience to internal, trade and retail customers.

Alongside an absolute customer first attitude, you will need to demonstrate an ability to maximise sales, improve customer retention and consistently deliver the satisfaction, volume and profitability objectives across your area of responsibility.

To be a success in this role, you will possess

  • Effective communication skills (written and aural);
  • Commitment to delivering customer excellence;
  • A good standard of verbal and numerical reasoning;
  • A keen eye for detail;
  • Previous experience in a target driven role;
  • Core skills in computing (essential), including web systems, email and use of excel;
  • Experience with CDK an advantage;
  • Full Driving Licence.

Apprentice Parts Advisor

The Westover Group are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join their successful Parts team at their Hub in Wallisdown.

The Parts team play a key role in liaising with all areas of the business including Sales, Service, Workshop Technicians and members of the public, and are critical to the successful running of our workshops.

The Role

As well as providing outstanding customer service to our retail and trade customers, our Parts Advisors are required to have in-depth technical knowledge to enable them to order, sell and manage stock for a wide range of vehicle brands and advise customers on how to solve problems with their cars. Our Parts Advisors are also meticulous in respect of the administrative areas of the Parts department, and are typically required to assist and support stock control policies and deliveries.

As an apprentice, what will you be doing?

Working alongside experienced members of staff, you will be able to develop your parts knowledge and learn first-hand how to undertake the role. Shadowing a fully-qualified Parts Advisor, you will assist with:

  • Taking orders from customers over the phone and face to face and serving Workshop Technicians
  • Organising the stock room and picking parts for orders
  • Receiving deliveries and updating records
  • Processing payments and raising invoices

Once you start working through and successfully passing your assignments and your knowledge in the role increases, you will be able to start completing these tasks on your own, dealing with your own customers and orders, and delivering the customer experience that Westover Group are proud to offer.

To be a success in this role you will have:

  • An excellent eye for detail
  • Core IT skills including competent use of web systems, MS Office, email and databases

What qualifications are required to gain this apprenticeship?

To be considered for this apprenticeship, you will need a minimum of GCSE Maths, English and ICT at grade 9 - 4 (A*-C) or equivalent.

Workshop Controller/Parts Supervisor

Westover Renault, Fiat and Dacia are looking for an experienced Workshop Controller/Parts Supervisor to join their team in Salisbury

The Role

As Workshop Controller you will be responsible for ensuring that all servicing and repairs are carried out effectively to achieve the highest possible right first time standards for technical quality whilst optimising workshop efficiency and productivity.

In addition to Workshop control you will also be overseeing the sales and ordering of parts for both retail and trade customers to maximise profit as well as ensuring targets for stock and availability are consistently met.

You will be required to demonstrate a time served career and the appropriate qualifications to support your achievements at the highest level within a technical capacity.

To be a success in this role, you will possess:

  • Prior experience as a senior technician or Workshop Controller is preferred
  • Computer literate with a strong numerical ability
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive the workshop team
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Hold a full driving licence.

Your responsibilities:

  • Appropriate allocation of work, fully recognising the skill level and experience of each Technician in the team
  • Monitor progress of repairs and service and communicate any delays
  • Regular daily checks to ensure capacity is met and additional work accommodated
  • Ensure that quality checks are carried out as per the company and Brand guidelines
  • Support, monitor and give feedback on Technicians’ quality and efficiency
  • Assist in customer queries with comprehensive knowledge of vehicle parts and components
  • Issue parts in good time in line with customer demand and delivery times
  • Profitably sell the budgeted amount of parts to trade and retail customers
  • Pre-pick parts for those jobs pre-booked into Workshop
