The Westover Group has two dedicated Kite Mark Approved Body Care centres in Poole and Salisbury as well as a SMART Repair centre in Bournemouth. As a result of accreditation from the brands we represent, we enjoy significant volumes of group business. Alongside this we have negotiated a large number of external insurance contracts meaning Westover Body care is one of the largest independent accident repair centres across Dorset and Wiltshire.

Bodyshop Manager

We are looking for an experienced Bodyshop Manager to lead our team of highly skilled professionals at our kite mark approved Bodycare bodyshop in Salisbury. As well as being a good technical lead, the successful applicant will have the company’s and team’s best interests at heart, whilst being a great communicator and inspiring manager.

Working directly under the Group Bodyshop Manager, and in charge of a team of 7, this is a great role perfect for someone with a strong background in a busy and pressurised bodyshop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maximising profitability;
  • Maintaining quality control;
  • Leading and developing the team;
  • Maintaining and overseeing staffing requirements against workload to ensure high work levels;
  • Monitoring processes, to ensure all team members are aware of any process changes; and
  • Inspecting work to ensure all processes meet the required standards.

To be a success in this role, you will have

  • Proven track record as a Workshop Controller / Bodyshop Controller / Supervisor within a Bodyshop environment (essential);
  • An excellent automotive, accident repair and bodyshop background – experience of working in the repair industry is essential;
  • 3 to 5 years experience in the body repair of motor vehicles;
  • Strong customer service skills and experience;
  • The ability to assess and report on staff performance;
  • Ideally, have some estimating knowledge; and
  • Technical qualifications and an up to date knowledge of consumer and vehicle legislation.

Working hours

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm, and alternate Saturday mornings 8.00am to 12.00pm

MET Technician/Panel Beater/Fitter

Our approved Bodycare Centre based in Poole is recruiting for a MET Technician/Panel Beater/Fitter.

To be a success in this role you will:

  • Have knowledge or previous hands-on experience in an accident repair centre or Bodyshop
  • Possess a Full driving licence.
  • Be able to work to deadlines and targets within a team.
  • Take pride in delivering high quality workmanship consistently
  • Have a desire to learn how to repair vehicles to an acceptable standard and carry out work in an economical manner
  • Accurately and skilfully undertake the repair of motor vehicles
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with the Company, manufacturer and industry guidelines
  • Fulfil all tasks to the customer’s complete satisfaction
  • Help the Company achieve industry leading standards of process efficiency

Your responsibilities

  • Assisting with removing, replacing and refitting mechanical, trim and electrical components
  • Panel alignment
  • Following manufacturer repair methods to return vehicles to their pre-accident condition
  • Assisting with fault finding and diagnosing simple electrical faults
  • Analyse work orders to identify what work has been agreed, seek clarification from an Estimator if a work order is not clear or seems incorrect
  • Evaluate the condition of the vehicle
  • Document completed work orders, ensuring hours and materials used are accurately and appropriately recorded and all warranty material is kept and returned to the warranty cupboard
  • Perform repair work as directed, within timescales and in accordance with established and documented procedures.
  • To be responsible for any remedial work necessary as a direct result of your poor workmanship in your own time (no bonus pay)
  • Ensure vehicles comply with industry safety standards when returned to the customer and any faults have been reported and noted on the job card
  • Ensure all health and safety, environmental and recycling policies, plus all internal policies and procedures are adhered to, focusing on customer needs and building upon the professional reputation of the Company

Working hours

Typically your hours of work will be 8.00am to 5.30pm, with some Saturdays on a rota.

Paint Sprayer

The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Paint Sprayer at our kite mark approved Bodycare bodyshop in Salisbury (Brunel Road, Churchfields Industrial Estate). You will be paint spraying vehicles to the highest standard, whilst meeting deadlines and targets set by the Bodyshop Manager.

To be a success in this role you will be able to:

  • Observe, recognise and report on vehicle paintwork
  • Carry out paint spraying on all brands of vehicle to the highest of standards
  • Work within a team and on your own
  • Drive, with a full driving licence

Your responsibilities:

  • Accurately use paint mixing schemes, computerised scales, spray booths and drying lamps
  • Interpret and implement technical service method data
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy
  • Apply top coat in line with manufacturer's specifications
  • Prepare repaired areas as directed by work orders, in readiness for application of the top coat
  • You will be responsible for your own health and safety and others around you

Working hours:

Our Paint Sprayers work a flexible 45-hour week, typically covering Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm, with some Saturdays on a rota.
