Trainee Service Advisor

The Role

Our Service Advisors ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction delivery for our customers using our retail locations for vehicle servicing and repair. With a friendly and professional disposition you are our principle point of contact for all customer communications whilst their vehicles are in our care. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills in order to deal with customers face to face or over the telephone, always delivering an exceptional experience for both internal and external customers.

As a Service Advisor you will be quick to identify the needs of the customers and delivering exceptional customer service must be evident in everything you do. You will need to work to tight timescales and thrive on the pressure of a busy service department.

To be a success in this role, you will possess

  • Excellent communication skills;
  • An interest in developing your technical mechanical knowledge;
  • Commitment to delivering customer excellence;
  • A good standard of verbal and numerical reasoning;
  • Computer literacy with a keen eye for detail; and
  • Hold a full driving licence.

Working alongside an experienced Service Advisor, you will assist with the following:

  • Providing an outstanding level of customer care, ensuring the highest standards of satisfaction at all times;
  • Booking service and repair work;
  • Organising courtesy cars when necessary;
  • Process payments in line with Company policy and invoicing;
  • Keeping customers fully informed of progress and advise of extra work needed;
  • Maintaining accurate customer records on our database and deploy telephone follow-up, up sell and progress calls, converting as many inbound and outbound calls into bookings as possible.

Working hours

Our Service Advisor core hours are typically 8.00am to 6.00pm, working on a rota to include Saturdays.

Apprentice Parts Advisor

The Westover Group are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join their successful Parts team at their Hub in Wallisdown.

The Parts team play a key role in liaising with all areas of the business including Sales, Service, Workshop Technicians and members of the public, and are critical to the successful running of our workshops.

The Role

As well as providing outstanding customer service to our retail and trade customers, our Parts Advisors are required to have in-depth technical knowledge to enable them to order, sell and manage stock for a wide range of vehicle brands and advise customers on how to solve problems with their cars. Our Parts Advisors are also meticulous in respect of the administrative areas of the Parts department, and are typically required to assist and support stock control policies and deliveries.

As an apprentice, what will you be doing?

Working alongside experienced members of staff, you will be able to develop your parts knowledge and learn first-hand how to undertake the role. Shadowing a fully-qualified Parts Advisor, you will assist with:

  • Taking orders from customers over the phone and face to face and serving Workshop Technicians
  • Organising the stock room and picking parts for orders
  • Receiving deliveries and updating records
  • Processing payments and raising invoices

Once you start working through and successfully passing your assignments and your knowledge in the role increases, you will be able to start completing these tasks on your own, dealing with your own customers and orders, and delivering the customer experience that Westover Group are proud to offer.

To be a success in this role you will have:

  • A keen interest in the motor industry
  • Outstanding communication skills and a confident telephone manner
  • Good problem solving and organisational skills
  • An excellent eye for detail
  • Core IT skills including competent use of web systems, MS Office, email and databases

What qualifications are required to gain this apprenticeship?

To be considered for this apprenticeship, you will need a minimum of GCSE Maths, English and ICT at grade 9 - 4 (A*-C) or equivalent.

Alongside your on-the-job training you will also undertake classroom based training at the state of the art training academies our Brand partners run. You will get to meet other Apprentices across the Country so you can share your experiences, support each other with completing assignments and develop long lasting friendships.

Entry Requirements

To be considered for one of our apprenticeships, you will need a minimum of GCSE Maths and English at grade A*- D or equivalent. If you are waiting to sit your exams then don’t worry, your predicted grades will be fine.
