Having started life as a cycle company, ŜKODA stayed true to its roots, supporting the OVO Energy Tour Series cycle race when it came to Salisbury on Thursday 31st May for its Grand Final stage.
Westover ŜKODA had two liveried vehicles – a Karoq and a Kodiaq – in the Tour Village VIP area, located in Salisbury’s Market Square.
The Karoq is a mid-sized SUV and the Kodiaq its slightly larger sibling but both are plenty big enough to cope with a couple of road bikes!
The OVO Energy Tour Series - Britain’s leading televised cycle race - has now completed its fifth year but this was the first time a stage has been hosted in Wiltshire.
The event was free for spectators to attend, and riders (who competed in teams of five) raced around a 0.9 mile circular course which started and finished on the city’s Blue Boar Row and included Minster Street, Silver Street, New Canal, Catherine Street, Ivy Street and Brown Street.
The fastest lap was completed in less than one minute and nine seconds.
“We have a long heritage with cycling here at ŜKODA and a few keen cyclists in our showroom team too, so we were all really excited to be involved in the OVO Tour – the biggest cycling event Salisbury has seen - and it didn't disappoint.
"We were right in the thick of the action so our guests and our staff had a fantastic view of the start and finish line.
"This was the perfect opportunity for Salisbury to show that it’s very much open for business and we’re thrilled to be on board and able to support our local community.”
