There are three different modes that will get you through any driving situation. In normal mode (4WD) the torque distribution between the front and rear axles is electronically controlled,giving you optimal road holding regardless of surface conditions.If you know the roads are dry and safe, then you can switch into 2WD for reduced fuel consumption. Or in the case of reduced traction, the 4WD lock mode offers a higher distribution of torque to the rear wheels.
