Second Public Appearance for 2017 Nissan GT-R at Beaulieu Supercar Showdown - 20 and 21 August 2016

Westover Nissan is joining the line up at Beaulieu's Supercar Showdown again this year. The Supercar event takes place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August in the heart of the New Forest and there are some great new features and displays in store for visitors.

Excitingly, one of the four display cars Westover Nissan is taking to Beaulieu is a pre-build 2017 Nissan GT-R in stunning Katsura Orange or Pearl Black. It was launched at the New York Motor Show earlier this year but the only other UK public appearance it's made so far has been at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The 2017 GT-R will be displayed amongst a chosen few vehicles, taking pride of place alongside a small selection of other hand-picked supercars in the Supercar to Racecar display area.

Westover Nissan will also take a 370Z Nismo and the current 2016 model GT-R to the show. These will be in the main display area. Additionally - and completing the Westover Nissan line up - there will be a Juke Nismo RS (the ultimate competition-inspired performance crossover) in the SUV Secret Garden (near Palace House).

The Beaulieu Supercar Showdown is a must-see family spectacular that brings some of the world’s most exclusive and desirable motors to the National Motor Museum. There will be more than 350 prestigious supercars in Beaulieu's stunning parkland for the two-day celebration. New for 2016 is a special tribute to the iconic voice of Formula One motorsport Murray Walker OBE.

Speaking to Car Magazine about the changes to the 2017 GT-R, Keno Kato, corporate vice president of Nissan’s global product strategy and product planning division, said: "Acceleration and outright performance stay the same - 0-60mph in 2.6 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph - but extra flexibility will improve lap times for most drivers.

"We’ve improved the aerodynamics, boosting stability at higher speed, while the optional titanium exhaust reduces weight – otherwise the kerb weight is around the same as the previous generation.

"The dampers have also been retuned, improving ride comfort and delivering more forgiving cornering performance – it depends on your driving skill, but for most drivers the lap times will be better with this suspension set-up."

Gerard Reidy, GT-R expert at Westover Nissan, adds: "It's quite a coup having the new GT-R for what is only its second public outing and it's a great chance for us to let local people have an early look at one of the most powerful, yet most reasonably priced, supercars on the market today.

"We're certainly all excited to see it! It's being delivered and collected direclty to Beaulieu, so anyone that wants a look should come and join us at the show."
