Qashqai Wins Small SUV 2014 Award

Westover Nissan in Bournemouth is predicting ongoing success for the British designed and built Nissan Qashqai after it won the 'Small SUV' category in What Car? magazine's prestigious Used Car of the Year Awards.

This latest award – made specifically to the popular 1.5 dCi Acenta model – is a further boost to the Qashqai's glowing reputation as being one of the most reliable, well-equipped and affordable used cars on the market.

The Qashqai was chosen for the award following detailed consideration by a panel of leading industry figures including Jim Holder, editor of What Car? magazine, David Gerrans, managing director of Warranty Direct, and Neil Addley, managing director of Trusted Dealers.

Local motorists have long been switched-on to the benefits of owning a Nissan Qashqai. Westover Nissan has sold 1,957 since the very first delivery back in January 2007 – that's more than 21 new Qashqai cars each and every month since launch. In addition, the Westover Nissan showrooms have also sold 1,100 used models, bringing the total number sold up to 3,057 (or more than one a day).

Paul Hughes, sales manager at Westover Nissan, adds: “The original Qashqai is our bestselling vehicle of all time and the success it enjoyed during its time in our new car showroom shows no sign of abating now it's in our used approved range. “Our customers love it! Once they've owned a Qashqai, they struggle to move to another model. It seems to get them hooked. Feedback is that the car's unbeatable combination of innovation and practicality is irresistible – it looks good, it's very capable and it's fun to drive too."

The new generation Qashqai, which has replaced the original model, has been winning award after award since its launch in January. It scooped the What Car? 'Car of the Year 2014' title, proving that it can more than hold its own against much newer opposition.
