Lots of people interested in learning more about the Motability Scheme, the benefits it brings to disabled drivers and the type of cars available, popped into Westover Nissan on Sunday 1st May.
Motability, the UK’s leading car scheme for disabled people, allows people eligible for the Government funded mobility allowance to exchange it for a new vehicle. Motability cars are available on a fixed or variable-term contract-hire lease, which includes insurance, tax, routine servicing and breakdown assistance. Vehicles are serviced annually and changed every three years.
Westover Nissan, based on Wallisdown Road in Bournemouth, hosted a Motability event to inform local people about the options available to them and to showcase the latest range of Nissan cars available – many with absolutely no advance payment for the driver.
The event, which was open to all, saw Westover Nissan’s dedicated Motability team on hand to answer any questions, including about potential vehicle adaptations.
Everyone who attended on the day was sent a £10 M&S voucher.
“As far as we’re aware, these events are the only ones of their kind in the region,” says Nicola Marriott, Motability Specialist at Westover Nissan.
“We ran our first one back in 2007 and they’ve proved to be so popular that we now hold two or three a year.
"It’s a great chance for people to come and see what’s on offer in a very relaxed and informal setting. We normally see some familiar faces – customers who have had several Motability cars through us but want to see the latest models – as well as a number of first-timers, who just feel ready to find out a bit more about the Scheme.
“My colleague, Olivia and I, work solely with Motability customers and we are passionate about helping our members to achieve a greater level of independence. Nissan vehicles currently available at no advance payment to eligible Motability customers include the Note, Juke, Pulsar, Qashqai, all-electric LEAF and X-Trail – all practical, stylish and spacious cars which deliver Nissan’s trademark reliability.
Westover Nissan’s Motability Charter gives customers access to VIP treatment, including home sales appointments, a phone-ahead ‘meet-and-greet’ service, vehicle collection and delivery, while-you-wait appointments and six free car washes a year.
