Gary Tranter Brings His Motor Trade Experience Back to Salisbury
There’s a new sales manager at Westover Toyota in Salisbury. Gary Tranter has taken over at the dealership’s helm, bringing 17 years of motor trade experience with him.
Having spent more than seven years heading up a Nissan showroom in Southampton, Gary was ready for a change when he spotted an online advert for the position at Westover Toyota.
“I know Salisbury, having previously worked for Craze Brothers when they held the city’s Peugeot franchise,” says Gary. “Peugeot is now in the Westover fold, located on the same site as Westover Nissan and Toyota, so it all feels very familiar!
“There are a lot of similarities between the Nissan and Toyota brands,” he continues. “They both have a strong build quality and come with a high specification level. Both manufacturers also have extensive ranges, with everything from city cars and family estates to 4x4s and commercial vehicles.
“There’s a great atmosphere here. It’s a small and friendly dealership and I feel almost like I’ve become part of an extended family. It’s very well managed but in a relaxed way, creating an environment that makes you want to excel. I’m supported by a great team - Steve Johnson, Westover’s Toyota brand manager, is giving me some excellent guidance, and the front-of-house team - Matthew, Richard, Jon, Mark and Martin – are all consummate professionals who have been in their jobs for quite some time and are proving to be invaluable advisors!”
Westover Toyota already has some strong links with the local community, but one of Gary’s ambitions is to extend the showroom’s relationships with other businesses operating in the city.
