Visitors Queue to Get into Westover Motor Showcase

Westover Group's 2015 Motor Showcase saw people queueing outside the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) to enter the show ahead of the 10am opening time. More than 4,000 people attended over the two days - Saturday 2nd May and Sunday 3rd May - making the most of the chance to see more than 150 of the new and pre-release cars on display.

"The Showcase was a tremendous success, enjoyed by people of all ages," says Paul Dillon, Joint Managing Director of Westover Group. "The Land Rover urban off-road adventure, positioned outside the BIC with a stunning seafront view, saw a steady stream of locals get a small taste of the capabilities of Land Rover's iconic vehicles and plenty of visitors tested their driving skills on the Formula 1 simulator. Both Poole Hospital Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support raised money at the show and West Hants Tennis Club and the Bournemouth Echo also attended.

"It was great to see so many families and the children seemed to enjoy the chance to check out some of our prestige cars as much as their parents! It gave everyone an opportunity to see the range of new cars currently on offer in a very relaxed environment and without having to visit lots of different showrooms."

One lucky visitor to this year's Motor Showcase has won a stunning ruby red metallic Renault Megane, worth more than £20,000 - although they don't know it yet! The competition, run in association with Auto Trader, was open to all visitors who entered the free prize draw and simply involved registering online or on arrival at the Showcase.

The winner will be announced later in May.

The amazing prize car – ready and waiting for its new owner at Westover's Renault showroom on Wallisdown Road in Poole – has a diesel engine and comes complete with all manner of mod cons, including built-in live sat nav, climate control, air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic lights and wipers, plus keyless entry. It's fuel efficient, delivering around 80 mpg, and comes with four years warranty and four years roadside breakdown cover.

“This is an incredible prize for one of our Motor Showcase guests and we're all excited to know who that person's going to be," adds Paul Dillon. “There are no strings attached, this is simply our chance to thank everyone for attending the show.

“Someone will be receiving a very high quality, well kitted-out new car worth a significant amount of money and I can't wait to present the winner with their new Renault Megane! Our 2013 winner was understandably over the moon when she discovered she'd won a Peugeot 208 and it was her reaction that made us decide to do the same again."

The Motor Showcase was held in the BIC's Solent and Windsor Halls. Over 150 of the newest cars currently available in the UK were on show, alongside an exciting array of 'halo' cars - some released from the manufacturers by special agreement.

Roving reporter, Marc Ryan from Global Radio, was Westover's 'man on the ground', interviewing team members about particular cars and making visitors aware of Showcase highlights.

The winner of the Renault Megane prize draw will be informed by Friday 15th May.
