Jaguar HQ Steps In to Help Westover Deal with XJ Demand

Westover has taken delivery of an additional Jaguar XJ, supplied direct from the manufacturer’s headquarters in Coventry, to help cope with unprecedented levels of demand for test drives in the region. The extra car - available exclusively to senior executives wishing to take extended test drives (for up to a week) in the British built XJ – will be at Westover Jaguar until the end of January.
“The XJ model marks a new generation for Jaguar,” says Neal Clarke, Westover Jaguar’s sales manager. “It marked a turnaround for the brand and - thanks to its elegant looks, luxurious interior and green credentials - it’s been an amazing success in our region, appealing to private owners and business users alike. With a combined mpg of 40 it has also been voted the greenest Jaguar ever, so it’s not hard to see why it’s proving to be such a success.
“The model we’ve been using as our demonstrator is constantly out on the road on test drives, so we appealed to Jaguar to help us meet the demand from people eager to find out if the XJ suits their lifestyle and business needs. Consequently this vehicle will be available solely for local opinion-formers to borrow for a few days at a time, so that they can have a chance to really get to know the car. We’re confident they won’t be disappointed!”
Described by The Telegraph as having “more poise and attitude” than its predecessors, the XJ is Jaguar’s flagship vehicle. Constructed from aluminium and magnesium (using techniques borrowed from the aviation industry), it is available in four models (Luxury, Premium Luxury, Portfolio and Supersport). There are also four engine choices – three powerful supercharged V8 options and a 3.0 litre V6 diesel, which delivers clout without compromising capability. There’s also a long-wheelbase option, which gives extra legroom.
Westover Jaguar’s extended test drive XJ is a long-wheel base 3.0 litre diesel model in Lunar Grey. It has a top-of-the-range ‘Portfolio’ specification, allowing drivers to appreciate the car’s on-board luxury as well as its outstanding fuel economy.
