Westover Nissan 370Z Winners Take to the Road

Derek and Diane Hibbert of Ferndown recently experienced the thrills and spills of a Nissan 370Z when they won it for a weekend, courtesy of Westover Nissan in Bournemouth. The lucky couple scooped the prize in a fundraising draw held at Dudsbury Golf Club in Ferndown.
“We used the 370Z to the full by touring Cornwall, covering more than 500 miles in a little over two days” reports Derek Hibbert, back from his high-speed adventure. “The car itself was a real ‘head-turner’ and clearly won admiring looks from passers-by – their envy was only surpassed by our disappointment at having to hand it back on Monday morning!
“Coincidentally, we won the prize two days before our 43rd wedding anniversary and it allowed us to celebrate in a style to which we would like to be accustomed.”
Gerard Reidy, Westover Nissan’s High Performance Specialist adds: “Derek and Diane obviously loved their two days in the Nissan sports car that’s been billed as ‘cheap at twice the price’ by Top Gear. They have kindly offered to put some more miles on a 370Z should we need them to at any time in the future!
“People don’t appreciate how powerful it is until they get behind the wheel, but the Hibberts were lucky enough to find out first-hand that it really is the quickest vehicle in its class. It’s a ‘driver’s car’ and it doesn’t disappoint, so we weren’t surprised to hear they’d had such a good time!”
The 370Z boasts a 0–60 mph time of just 5.4 seconds, thanks to its 3.7 litre V6 engine. It also benefits from Synchro Rev Control, which allows smooth changes through the six speed manual (or seven speed ‘paddle shift’ automatic) gearbox.
