Russell Hallifax Takes on Motability Role at Westover Skoda
19 October 2011
Westover Skoda has a new Motability specialist on board. Russell Hallifax joins the Corfe Mullen showroom with considerable experience, having first qualified on the Motability scheme back in 1996.
Russell - who has always lived and worked in and around Bournemouth - initially trained as a vehicle technician, but then took on a service reception role and finally moved into the sales arena, where he has remained for the last fifteen years, gaining experience across a range of different vehicle makes.
“Motability is a really excellent scheme, which allows many people who might otherwise struggle to get out and about to do so with confidence,” says Russell. “Those who qualify for higher rate mobility allowance can effectively swap it for a new car – and often without any additional financial commitment. Access to a fully-maintained and reliable vehicle brings with it renewed confidence and we see many customers whose lives are quite literally transformed.
“I was genuinely really impressed with how good Skoda’s cars are when I started here and the manufacturer’s Motability offering is particularly strong. There are 70 models available in the current range without any cash payment at all. Most popular is the Skoda Fabia, thanks to its quiet, comfortable and spacious interior, as well as its cost effectiveness. It’s not surprising then that 93 per cent of Skoda’s Motability customers like what they experience so much that they come back for more!”
Sales Manager, Dan Jenkins adds: “We’re really pleased to have Russell on the team here. He brings expertise and enthusiasm to the role and, with his vast knowledge of the Motability scheme, will be able to offer our customers the benefit of his experience, assisting them throughout the selection, adaptation and purchasing process.”
Russell undergoes annual refresher courses, as do all Motability specialists, to make sure his knowledge of the scheme remains bang up-to-date.
The Motability Scheme was set up to help people who receive the higher rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance to gain access to safe and affordable transport. It permits the allowance to be exchanged for a new or used vehicle - and you don’t even need to be a driver yourself as you can nominate two other people as your drivers. An application for a car can also be made on behalf of a child aged three or older, if he or she is entitled to the mobility allowance.
