Nine Nissan Leafs Leave Westover in August

Nine Nissan Leafs left Westover Nissan’s showroom last month, exceeding the showroom’s expectations and proving that local people are embracing the new era of electric motoring.
Eight of the all-electric Leafs have been handed over to local Dorset-based customers, with the remaining one going all the way to Guernsey.
“Our test-drivers and buyers have been a really diverse group so far – some are innovators, keen to get to grips with the latest technology; most are motivated by the wish to save money and drive a more environmentally friendly car,” reports Sallyann Tanner, Westover Nissan’s Electric Vehicle Relationship Manager.
“We’ve been taking the Leaf out and about across the region throughout the summer and it’s proving to be a real crowd-puller everywhere it goes. There’s no doubt that it’s really changing people’s perceptions about electric cars - certainly everyone that’s seen and driven it has been impressed by its looks, as well as its ability to cut carbon emissions without compromising on performance, space or specification.”

Nissan’s Leaf comes with full air conditioning, a 7” Touch Screen satellite navigation system (which also displays the location of the closest charging points), hands free Bluetooth, Automatic lights & wipers, full colour rear view parking camera, internet connectivity and a unique Telematics system which allows the driver to communicate with the vehicle via their iPhone. It has a driving range of up to 109 miles on a single full battery charge and recharging the batteries is a very simple process – owners either plug in at home overnight or use a a public charging point.
Already awarded the accolade of European Car of the Year 2011 and World Car of the Year 2011, the Nissan Leaf is only available from 31 Nissan specialist electric vehicle (EV) dealerships across the UK, of which Westover Nissan on Wallisdown Road in Bournemouth is one.
