Westover Supercars will get Hearts Racing at Beaulieu
26 August 2011
A selection of the Westover Group’s most elite cars are set to get hearts racing at this year’s Supercars Start-Up event at Beaulieu on Bank Holiday Monday (29th August) from 10am to 6pm.
Joining a line-up of some of the world’s most prestigious motors in the stunning grounds of Hampshire’s Motor Museum will be Nissan’s GT-R and 370Z Roadster, as well as the Lotus Evora and the Jaguar XKR – some of which will be put through their paces in Beaulieu’s Supercars arena.
This year, the show is taking on a new format with the day open to private individuals who can show their own supercar, creating an exciting day out for all the family in a superb location.
Westover’s mouth-watering medley of supercars includes Nissan’s GT-R – a supercar with more balls than badge, branded “simply phenomenal” by Channel 4 and “unfathomably good” by Top Gear. Its good looks are matched by its mighty performance and - thanks to its blistering record on the Nurburgring Circuit, combined with a cost that is a mere fraction of its competitors - the GT-R is giving its German rivals a run for their money.
Nissan’s 370Z will also be on display. Punching well above its weight and boasting a 0–60mph time of just 5.4 seconds, it’s definitely worth a look. It also benefits from Synchro Rev Control - which allows smooth changes through a six speed manual gear box or seven speed automatic.
The Lotus Evora, described by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson as "the only car I've ever driven … which is a killer attack dog and an old sofa", highlighting its performance on the road and its comfort. The Evora has bagged plenty of awards, thanks to its superb handling and looks, scooping accolades as Autocar’s Best Driver’s Car and GQ magazine’s Best Car under £60,000.
Next in the Westover line-up is the Jaguar XKR, a coupe which combines unchallenged luxury with supercharged performance, delivering 0-60mph in just 4.9 seconds. It’s an awe-inspiring combination of power and performance.
Last but not least, visitors may wonder why an ordinary looking car is sitting alongside some of the fastest sports cars on the planet. But while the Nissan Leaf may look like your average family car, it is anything but average - it’s the first full-sized all-electric family car and it’s capable of travelling 34 miles for just £1, or around 109 miles on a full charge - an appealing proposition for motorists tired of shelling out at the pump.
“We’ve will have a select and inspiring range of cars from across the Westover Group on display at Beaulieu, catering for a wide variety of requirements and budgets. For drivers and enthusiasts of supercars this is a not-to-be-missed event - we’re looking forward to sharing our enthusiasm about these magnificent models with visitors to the show!”
