Supercars Show a Resounding Success for Westover
16 August 2011
The Westover Group turned out in force to show its prestige and performance vehicles to around 10,000 local visitors at Wilton House’s third Supercars event.
Westover alone shipped in more than 30 cars, three hospitality units, two marquees, three specialist vehicles and a racing simulator in honour of the occasion.
“The show was a tremendous success, much helped by a stunning backdrop and brilliant sunshine,” says Paul Dillon, Westover Group Operations Director. “Supercars is an amazing opportunity to see a really impressive collection of some of the world’s fastest – and most expensive – privately owned cars, alongside some stunning vintage models and a good cross-section of modern prestige vehicles.”
Particularly popular were Nissan’s High Performance trio – the GT-R, 370Z and 370 Roadster. Also attracting attention on the Nissan stand was a vintage Skyline R34 and a specially modified Juke, the Juke Jam - packed with sophisticated sound technology and put to good use playing host to roving DJs across the UK throughout the summer. Westover Nissan also had a closely watched GT-R on its stand, which left Wilton House for the South of France where it will feature in Clarkson’s latest Top Gear DVD.
Prestige vehicles from Westover Jaguar, Lexus, Sports Cars and Land Rover were also widely admired, with much interest in Jaguar’s XK and the Lotus Evora.
Thanks to the Jaguar XK’s sporty looks, its staggering ability to power from 0-60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and its luxurious interior, the ‘cool cat’ well deserved its place amongst the supercars on display at Wilton House. All Westover’s luxury brands generated large numbers of enquiries, but requests for information about Land Rover’s Evoque - due to be unleashed on the UK’s roads in September – flooded in throughout the day.
Westover Skoda displayed its vRS hot hatches (alongside the Fabia Super 2000 rally car, recently piloted by Guy Wilkes) and Westover Renault had its full RenaultSport range out for the day.
