Westover Nissan to Showcase Electric Car at Steam and Vehicle Show
Visitors to the Steam and Vehicle Show at Canford Park Arena will see just how much motor technology has changed over the years with Westover Nissan showcasing the recently launched Leaf - Nissan’s first 100% electric vehicle – alongside superb steam engines and vintage cars.
Taking place on 18 and 19 June (from 9am to 5pm), the event offers a fantastic day out for all the family, with an amazing array of steam powered vehicles as well as classic cars on display, children’s entertainment and a craft and model marquee.
Sallyann Tanner, Westover Nissan’s Electric Vehicle Relationship Manager said: “The show provides a great opportunity for visitors to discover how transport has evolved and the Leaf sits perfectly in this environment. The car represents another huge step forward in vehicle technology and will one day take its own place in the history books as a car that revolutionised driving. It’s the UK’s first fully electric, family-sized car, and it’s capable of achieving around 109 miles on a charge - that will be very appealing to people who want to do their bit to help lower carbon emissions and protect the environment or who simply want to drive down the cost of motoring, and for those who drive a company car, there is No Benefit in Kind Tax to pay on the Leaf and companies who purchase one, can ‘write down’ 100 per cent of capital allowances in the first year!”
The car comes with climate control air conditioning, 7” touch screen satellite navigation system (which displays charging points), colour rear view parking camera, automatic headlamps and wipers, and a unique Telematics system which allows remote communication with the vehicle via the driver’s iPhone. The Leaf can be charged from your home, workplace or public charging points.
Westover’s Wallisdown Road showroom is one of just 26 hand-picked dealerships across the country chosen to sell Nissan’s award-winning model. Demonstrators are available to test drive and those who have taken the Leaf out for a spin so far have been overwhelmingly positive. Sallyann continued: “Without exception, test drivers have reported that it’s drives like a normal car and we’ve received nothing but positive comments about its looks and size – which are both very much as you’d expect from a standard family car.”
Come and see the Leaf and speak to Sallyann who can provide expert knowledge and advice about the LEAF, as well as about electric motoring generally.
