Fabulous Array of Cars on Show at First Community Festival
Saturday 21 May at the Bournemouth & Poole College.
Westover Nissan is getting into the community spirit this weekend when it takes part in the first Bournemouth & Poole Community Festival which takes place on Saturday 21 May at the Bournemouth & Poole College.
The free festival, entirely run by volunteers from the College, will become an integral part of community activities within the area and aims to attract a wide range of performers from differing cultures and origins, bringing diversity in performance art. It will include live entertainment from a variety of home-grown acts, work and demonstrations from artists, local produce at a selection of food and drink stalls, as well as activities for schools and youth groups and stalls from local charity groups, businesses and organisations.
Westover Nissan will be showcasing its own diversity with a stunning range of cars on display. This includes the newly launched Leaf – Nissan’s award-winning 100% electric car. Named World Car of the Year for 2011, this family sized car is capable of achieving around 109 miles on a charge, has no tailpipe, cuts out carbon emissions and reduces fuel bills, and it looks set to start a new revolution in motoring.
Also in the line-up will be the superb GT-R - a top notch super car that offers power, performance and pizzazz along with an appealing price tag. Cited by the Telegraph as “one of the fastest cars money can buy… a true performance bargain”, the current model has even had the Top Gear team gushing at its ability to achieve an astounding 0-60mph in just 3 seconds – 0.3mph faster even than a Porsche Turbo S.
Then there is the refreshed and reinvigorated Micra - now sporting a totally new look inside and out - which has gone down a storm in the area since its launch earlier this year. The updated supermini is a great compact car with a terrific turning circle of just 4.65 metres and a parking slot measurement function standard on the Tekna, which makes it perfect for city slickers. The Micra comes with five doors as standard, along with plenty of space for five adults and room left over for a decent sized boot, yet it also offers hard-to-match fuel economy and low running costs.
Super-slick, supermini-meets-SUV – the funky Nissan Juke - proved an immediate hit in the region when it first came to our roads last year due to its innovative and stylish looks and is also expecting admiring glances at the event. But not only does it look slick, the UK-built compact cross-over features a raised ride height that gives both driver and passengers a great view, as well as allowing it to take speed bumps and uneven roads in its stride to offer total comfort.
Mike Boyd, Westover Group Director, said: “This event aims to bring the community together and this offers a great opportunity for us to show local people what a great range of cars we have available at Westover Nissan in a relaxed and fun environment. Visitors to our stand are guaranteed a warm reception; they’ll be able to have a closer look at all the cars on show as well as the chance to find out about all the other models in Nissan’s varied model range – we really do have something for everyone and all at extremely competitive prices so it’s really worth popping by to say hello.”
