Westover Group supported the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September for the ninth year running, helping to drive donations to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Teas and coffees were available in the showrooms all day, with Westover making a donation for every cup of tea or coffee drunk, every test drive taken and every car bought or sold.
Each and every one of Westover’s 26 car showrooms in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Corfe Mullen, Ferndown and Salisbury served tea, coffee and cakes to raise money for Macmillan, the charity which offers medical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer.
Some Westover locations also ran competitions, including 'guess the height of the cake', and others ran tombolas. Westover Nissan boosted its contribuitions to Macmillan by making a donation for every service customer who opted to use an electric courtesy car.
“We had a steady stream of customers enjoying delicious cakes and coffee in our showrooms all day - and our teams made the most of the edible treats too!” says Paul Dillon, Westover Group’s Joint Managing Director.
“Macmillan's Coffee Mornings are a simple opportunity for us to put our welcoming showrooms to an alternative use, have an open house event and help raise some money. It’s about supporting a really worthwhile cause and we're grateful to all the local people who have backed us in our bid to boost Macmillan’s funds.”
Westover have donated 50p for every tea or coffee, £5 for every test drive and £50 or every car bought or ordered on the day. The totals are still being added up but we'll keep you posted!
Westover has raised more than £22,000 from its World’s Biggest Coffee Mornings in the last eight years.
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. It also supports carers and families, funds nurses and specialist health care professionals and builds cancer care centres.
