Motability - the UK’s leading car scheme for disabled people - is joining Westover Group at its Motor Showcase, being held at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) this weekend (Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April).
All the latest Motability vehicles from Westover’s manufacturers will be available to see (including models from Abarth, Alfa, Dacia, Fiat, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Skoda and Toyota). Each car will be easily identifiable, thanks to a Motability sticker on the windscreen. There will also be a wheel-chair adapted vehicle on display.
Westover’s own Motability specialists will be joined by Motability Operations Ambassador, Chris Edwards, on the show’s Motability stand. Chris has worked for Motability Operations for roughly 11 years, assisting Motability with its charity work and supporting dealerships with their events. He himself has been a Motability customer for 29 years and has a thorough understanding of the Motability scheme.
He will be joined by Westover’s own Motability experts, including Jon Jupp from Westover Nissan and David Frake from Westover Renault, Fiat, Hyundai and Peugeot. The team will be on hand to answer any questions about Motability eligibility, adaptions and vehicle options.
Motability allows people eligible for Higher Rate Mobility Allowance or the Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment to exchange it (in most cases at no cost at all) for a new vehicle. It is estimated that only about a third of claimants who are eligible and living in the Bournemouth area choose to do so - mostly because they are unaware of the scheme and its benefits.
Cars are available on a fixed-term contract-hire lease, which includes insurance, tax, routine servicing and breakdown assistance. They are serviced annually and changed every three years. All the customer has to pay for, in most cases, is fuel. Cars eligible under the scheme will carry a Motability sticker on their nearside headlight at the Motor Showcase and Motability flags will help visitors locate the supporting brands.
Visitors to the BIC will be able to feast their eyes on over 150 of the newest cars currently available in the UK at Westover’s free-to-attend family-focused Motor Showcase.
Anyone can simply turn up on Saturday 29th April (10.00am-5.00pm) or Sunday 30th April (10.00am–4.00pm) but those who register in advance at www.bhlivetickets.co.uk will be entered into a free prize draw - run in association with Auto Trader, the UK’s largest digital vehicle market place - to win a brand new car.
