Salisbury Racecourse's renowned Ladies' Evening – the most popular race meeting of the year - has a new sponsor for 2015. Westover Group, who are backing the event, are also offering one lucky woman the use of a brand new car for a year. The fixture, which attracts a sell-out crowd, will take place on Saturday 11th July.
“This is one of the favourite events of the year for local race-goers and Westover is delighted to join the Racecourse's field of front-running sponsors," says Mike Boyd, Westover Group Director.
“We're offering the use of a car for a year to one of the female visitors judged to be amongst the 'best dressed' by a panel of fashionistas who will mingle with the crowds in their mission to seek out the evening's most stylish women. A group of finalists will be selected and the winner, whose name will be selected at random, will be able to collect a brand new pre-allocated car from one of the 10 showrooms in Westover's Salisbury stable. We will decide upon the make and model of car in the next few weeks but, needless to say, it will be a thoroughbred!"
Gates open at 4.00pm for the Westover Ladies' Evening, with racing starting at 5.55pm and finishing at 9.00pm. There are seven races throughout the evening and five-piece tribute band, Fake That, will take to the stage after the last race.
In addition to offering race sponsorship, Westover Nissan and Westover Toyota have saddled up for the ninth year running to support Salisbury Racecourse.
The Brunel Road showrooms are once again providing two complimentary 4x4 vehicles for course officials to use at each of the season's 16 race meetings. The cars will be driven by the race starter and the course doctor at each meet throughout the sixth month racing season, which kicks off on Sunday 3rd May and gallops to a finish on Monday 12th October.
Jeremy Martin, Racecourse Director and Clerk of the Course, adds: “Westover have helped the team here at the Racecourse for a long time, thanks to their race day vehicles and individual race sponsorships, and we're delighted to extend our strong relationship. This is the first time we've offered such a significant prize at our Ladies' Evening, so we look forward to a really successful evening."
