The Lotus Exige V6 Cup is optimised purely for speed, with dominating on-track performance in mind as this V6 Cup was developed for racing drivers, by racing drivers. Expertly created by the Lotus team it was tested non stop at the test track in Hethel, England.
Its 3.5 Litre Superchaged V6 engine provides 345bhp (350PS) and the throttle response is race-car instant. 0-60 times are a little secretive, but it is under 3.8 Seconds and it will get you a top speed of 170mph. It delivers a punchy 295lbs ft (400Nm) of torque and provides mid-engine balance.
Lotus incorporates all FIA-approved safety equipment within its Exige V6 Cup as elements of the overall design intentions, including race seats and runners. An in-built roll bar, with optional front cage, keeps the competitor safe. The Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) ensures that the driver can harness the high potential of the engine and its chassis through four programmed settings with antilock four-pot brakes to help avoid hazards.
Combined MPG will still get you a respectable 28.0 MPG and the CO2 emissions are 235 g/km.
Underpinning every Exige V6 Cup is the most efficient, strongest and low weight, extruded and bonded chassis-tub. Based on more than 60 years of racing car developments, its torsional rigidity is uncompromised. There are 17" front and 18" rear black gloss alloys fitted with Pirelli Corsa tyres.
A 6-speed, close-ratio, manual gearbox, featuring constant mesh helical gears, is standard, allied to an open differential.
Red AP Racing four-piston calipers with upgraded 2-piece ventilated and cross-drilled cast-iron discs are fitted for optimum effect. Lotus and BOSCH tuned ABS system with Hydraulic Brake Assist, Electronic Brake Distribution and Cornering Brake Control all come standard as well. Not to mention the 4-mode Lotus Dynamic Performance Management [Lotus DPM] system which includes launch control.
