The new Land Rover Defender is at the heart of Britain's working countryside - tough, capable and made to get its wheels dirty! The 2013 range has evolved to meet your ever-changing needs and is still as versatile as ever - the world's most famous all-terrain workhorse seems beyond improvement.
The previous model year saw the iconic Land Rover Defender equipped with a vibrant new 2.2 litre diesel engine, a variety of new interior options, and ventilated brake-discs. The 2013 model will also offer a number of improvements to the classic formula, including more exterior styling options, a revamped interior, and an upgraded entertainment system.
”It retains the rugged appeal that it’s always been famous for, but now with even greater customer choice”, in the words of the manufacturer’s Global Brand Director John Edwards. Two new body colours – Barolo Black and Havana – allow buyers greater scope for personalisation. Meanwhile, the vogue for two-tone paint schemes is reflected in a choice of four new colours for the roof – Santorini Black, Indus Silver, Orkney Grey, and Firenze Red. These come in addition to the original Fuji White.
Inside, the 2013 Defender offers premium-quality part-leather seats for the driver and front passenger. Even when travelling in such an exceptionally tough vehicle as a Land Rover, particularly rough terrain can cause unsettling bumps and jolts to the occupants. The new seating improves lumbar support and reduces physical strain, as well as providing greater comfort on long journeys.
To round off the available enhancements, the 2013 Defender can also offer buyers an upgraded entertainment system. The already impressive setup of the previous year’s model comprised a single-slot CD player, USB port, Aux jack and 4x50W amplification. This, however, can be enhanced still further with the Alpine-branded Hi Line 150W low profile subwoofer system with 10cm coaxial speakers.
With the same dependable Euro 5-compliant 2.2 litre diesel engine providing 360Nm of torque at just 2,000rpm, the 2013 Defender is as strong and ever – and now offers a little extra style and comfort for your money.
