Design 

A dynamic hatchback for the contemporary driver, the Rio features a fun front end with sculpted side panels, smooth lines curving over the roofline and rear light clusters which recall the Sportage. It also comes equipped with body-coloured door mirrors and exterior handles, and steering wheel mounted controls as standard. 

Kia’s feisty little hatchback is available in four different versions. The Rio 2 offers chic 16-inch alloy wheels and a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearshift, whilst the range-topping Rio 3 features 17-inch alloy wheels, intelligent rain-sensing front wipers, LED running lights and heated front seats. 

Engine and Gearbox 

The Rio offers a broad selection of petrol and diesel, manual and automatic engines, all of which deliver efficient power. In the petrol range, choose from 1.25-litre or 1.4-litre units, with the options for an automatic transmission on the 1.4-litre variant. Meanwhile, the diesel selection boasts Intelligent Stop and Go (ISG) functionality across the range to help you look after the environment. Choose from a 1.1 or 1.4-litre manual unit. 

Offering the best acceleration is the 1.4-litre manual petrol engine, with a 0-60mph figure of 11.1 seconds. Taking the prize for the most efficient unit in the line-up is the manual 1.1-litre diesel ISG, with an astounding figure of 88.3 MPG combined fuel consumption and just 85g/km CO2 emissions. 

Technology and Safety
