JIM MCDONALD WINS AN iPAD, THANKS TO OFF-LINE SKILLS
Jim McDonald at Westover Fiat in Poole has won Apple’s latest device, the iPad, thanks to his superb sales and customer service skills.
Jim, who’s worked at Westover Fiat on Wallisdown Road in Poole since 2008, sold more new and used Fiat cars than any of his colleagues in September, taking an incredible 24 new Fiat car orders – more than half for the ever-popular new Fiat 500, which has seen steady sales since its launch back in January 2008. The Grande Punto and Bravo were hot on its heels, ranking as Jim’s next most-sold models of the month.
“Jim does an excellent job and is a firm favourite with our customers, but he excelled himself in September – selling a car each and every day of the month, with just six exceptions – which were his days off!” comments Brett Santfleben, Sales Manager.
“Fiat’s got a great range of vehicles – mostly small, all with super-sleek Italian styling - and lays claim to some of the most reliable and environmentally-friendly engines on the market. They’re past-masters at keeping things fresh and funky and we’ve got some really exciting special edition models spicing things up in the next few months. We’ll also be introducing a TwinAir turbo-charged engine on the new Fiat 500 at the end of the month – it’s the most eco-friendly petrol engine in the world, which is quite a claim to fame.
“Meanwhile, we’re celebrating Jim’s success and hoping he keeps up the good work. He’s enjoying his iPad tremendously, teaching us all a trick or two, and we wish him many hours of technological pleasure!”
Before joining Westover and embarking on a second career in the motor industry, Jim spent 38 years in the finance sector, working for household names like Britannia and Portman. He lives locally, having moved to Bournemouth in 2002. His affiliation with the area dates back to the 1960s, when he bought a holiday apartment in Poole.
Jim was presented with his prize by Simon Wheeler from Fiat.
